.CHT File Extension

Contains cheat codes that provide "cheats" for Super Nintendo (SNES) games; can be loaded by SNES emulators such as ZSNES and Project64; enables the user to load cheats such as invincibility or infinite lives.

System file used by Index Server, a search indexing component of Windows; contains a list of noise words that are excluded from Windows search; allows unwanted terms such as "of," and "this" to be excluded from file and folder searches.

The CHT file extension stands for Chinese Traditional. It contains both English and Chinese words. An example Chinese noise word is 不, which means "not."

A Windows CHT file called noise.cht is located in the C:\Windows\System32\ directory. It is saved in a plain text format.
