File archive compressed with Bzip, a file compression tool included with some Unix systems; combines Run-Length Encoding (RLE) with the Burrows-Wheeler compression algorithm; slower than .GZIP compression, but compresses files more.
NOTE: Bzip has been replaced by the newer Bzip2 compression algorithm; Bzip2 files typically have a .BZ2 or .BZIP2 file extension. |
