Two-dimensional vector graphic format created by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C); developed as a standard format for displaying vector graphics on the Web; describes images using a text format that is based on XML.
The SVG format is an open standard developed under the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium), with Adobe playing a major role; SVG images can be created and exported from Adobe Creative Suite programs, such as Illustrator and GoLive.
