.ISE File Extension

Project file created by InstallShield Express, a program that allows users to create Windows installers; contains project settings and code, including installation file names, target locations, and dialog settings; used to build an installation package.

NOTE: InstallShield project files created by the Premiere and Professional editions are saved as .ISM files.

Project file created by ISE hardware electronics design software; stores references to source files as well as project settings; used for FPGA (Field-programmable Gate Array) design.

NOTE: The ".ise" extension is used for versions 7 through 10 of the ISE software. Version 11 and later use the .XISE extension. You can convert ".ise" files into ".xise" files in version 11 of the software by selecting File → Open Project and choosing your ".ise" file.
