.JPX File Extension

Formal extension used for JPEG 2000 files; JPEG 2000 is an improvement to the standard .JPEG format that compresses image files using lossy or lossless compression.

The JPEG 2000 format also supports image transparency and retains alpha and spot channels. JPX files may also contain additional metadata that describes the contents of the file.

Project file created by JBuilder, an application used for developing Java programs; saves project settings and references to source code files; more commonly seen with the .JPR extension.
