Mac OS X website shortcut typically generated by the Safari Web browser; contains the URL of a Web page; created by dragging the website icon next to the address field to the desktop or another folder on the hard drive.
WEBLOC files are similar to .URL files created by other programs. They can be opened in Opera by dragging the file into an open browser window.
NOTE: WEBLOC files are not supported by the Windows version of Safari. When a WEBLOC file is copied to a Windows computer, it may show two files: [filename].webloc and [filename]._webloc. Both files can be opened in a text editor, which will reveal the URL contained in the file. |
