What is an ASWS file?
An ASWS file contains a custom skin for Avast antivirus software. It stores program display properties for colors, textures, scale, animation, transparency, and pop-ups. Avast users save skins as ASWS files to contain custom skin designs for Avast windows.

You can modify ASWS skins by renaming the .asws extension to .skn, editing the renamed file with Softshape Development ActiveSkin, then re-saving the file with the .asws extension. You may package skins as .ASWCS files with the SkinPacker ashSkPck.exe program included in the Avast installation.
NOTE: Skins are only used by Avast 4 and earlier.
