.AWD File Extension

Fax image, also called an "At Work Document," created by Microsoft Fax software; stores the content of a received fax, including the text and page structure information; can be converted to a .TIF file by executing the program awdvstub.exe, which is located in the i386\win9xmig\fax\ directory on the Windows XP/2000 installer CD.

AWD files may viewed and converted to more common raster image formats using several fax software utilities.

Drawing created with Artweaver, a creative painting program designed to simulate natural brush tools; may include sketches created with several types of brushes and many different colors; supports image transparency, text, and layers.

Updater file used to update or "flash" the BIOS of a Windows PC; typically used for updating ASUS motherboards that use the Award BIOS.

NOTE: In some cases, the AWD file extension may need to be changed to .BIN in order to be loaded by the AWDFLASH program.
