What is a BLOON file?
A BLOON file is a game data file used by games in the Bloons Tower Defense series. It contains settings that define a bloon's characteristics. For example, BLOON files specify a bloon's sprite, health, speed, and status and weapon immunities.

Ninja Kiwi Bloons Tower Defense is a series of tower defense games in which players must place weapon-wielding towers to prevent balloons from escaping a maze. In-game, these balloons are referred to as bloons.
Each type of bloon is associated with a BLOON file. This file, which consists of JSON-formatted text, defines the bloon's appearance and behavior. For example, red bloons are associated with a file named Red.bloon. All of a game's BLOON files are stored in its BloonDefinitions directory.
How to open a BLOON file
You can open and edit a BLOON file with Microsoft Visual Studio Code (multiplatform) or any other text editor. Bloons Tower Defense modders may want to open and edit BLOON files with BTD Toolbox (Windows), a dedicated BTD modding application.
