.BLP File Extension

Image texture format used by Blizzard games, such as Warcraft 3 and World of Warcraft; can be applied to 3D objects, such as adding a face to a character; formatted similarly to a .TGA files, but used specifically by Blizzard games.

File used by Speedy Eggbert, an action and puzzle game for Windows released in 1998; may store game music, images, or other data; used for displaying game graphics, playing sounds, and loading other game information such as world data.

Some BLP files are actually bitmap (.BMP) images and MIDI (.MID) files. For example, you can rename the file extension of the installation files in the \SOUND\ directory to ".mid" and open them with any MIDI player.
