What is a C02 file?

A C02 file is the second part of a compressed archive that has been split by E-merge WinAce, a file compression utility for Windows. It stores one segment of an archive that may contain one or more files compressed with WinAce.

More Information

WinAce enables you to split archives into smaller parts so they can be more easily transferred, whether it be over the Internet or on physical storage devices, such as CDs or flash drives. When splitting an archive, WinAce creates multiple files depending on the size of the archive and the split archive size specified by the user. The first split archive is saved with the .c01 file extension, the second is saved with the .c02 file extension, and so on.

How to open a C02 file

You can only extract the contents from a C02 split archive with E-merge WinAce. Unfortunately, E-merge WinAce has been discontinued, which makes it difficult to obtain a copy of the application.

If you are able to install WinAce, you will need to obtain all of the parts of the archive (C01 file, C03 file, etc.) in order to successfully decompress and merge the C02 WinAce split archive.
