Text file that contains source code written in the Fortran programming language; needs to be preprocessed by the C-PreProcessor before being passed to the Fortran compiler; may be generated by multiple Fortran development applications.

Unix file archive compressed with the "freeze" file compression program; part of the freeze/melt/fcat compression utilities package; has mostly been replaced by the GNU zip suite that includes gzip, gunzip, and zcat.
