Song file used by Guitar Guru, an application used to teach users how to play the guitar; contains a guitar tablature, song audio data, and fingerboard information; used for displaying a simulation of the guitar performance; also used for storing downloaded songs from Musicnotes.com.

MGT files can be played back in Guitar Player Mode, or in CD Player Mode. Guitar Player Mode displays a fingerboard simulation during playback. CD Player Mode allows users to change the tempo, start and stop points, and looping preferences.
