What is an OKT file?

An OKT file is an audio tracker module saved in the Oktalyzer Tracker Module (OKT) format. It is primarily created by Oktalyzer, one of the first audio trackers available for Amiga systems. OKT files store tracks, patterns, and samples used for instruments that are played back in the songs.

Armin Sander developed Oktalyzer in the 1980s, and Mayer Verlag distributed the commercial audio tracker in 1988 for Amiga computers. However, Sander discontinued the software in 1991, with the last version being 1.57.

Although Oktalyzer has been discontinued for many years, you may still encounter old OKT files created by the original application. In addition, you may also receive OKT files created by video game music enthusiasts using a third-party audio tracker.
