.PER File Extension

Artificial intelligence (AI) file used by Age of Empires (AoE), a real-time strategy game; contains settings for how the computer player makes decisions; may specify parameters for building units or for how large an army needs to be before attacking; created as part of the scenario design process for a campaign.

Since PER files are saved using plain text formatting, you can edit them with a text editor.
