File used by InstallShield, a program used for creating Windows software installers; contains source code written in InstallScript, a proprietary language used for InstallShield projects; used for scripting custom installation functionality.

RUL files are named Setup.rul by default when you select File → New Script File from an open InstallShield project. Subsequent RUL files use the name SetupN.rul, where N is an incrementing number.
