A TST file may also be an optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) test results file created by Fluke Networks OptiFiber and OptiFiber Pro fiber-optic testing equipment. It stores raw measurement data from a fiber-optic test in a proprietary binary format, including the OTDR trace and event table, produced by Fluke Networks testers. TST files are saved in a proprietary binary format and are intended to be transferred from the tester to a computer for review, analysis, and reporting rather than opened as ordinary documents.

An OTDR sends light pulses through a fiber-optic cable and measures the returning light to evaluate the fiber's length and condition, while the event table identifies features such as connectors, splices, bends, and other events along the fiber. Fiber-optic technicians, installers, and network professionals use TST files to test and document fiber-optic links.
How to open a TST file
You can open TST files with Fluke Networks LinkWare PC on Windows and OTDR Master fin a web browser. LinkWare PC can import TST files directly from a computer or memory card and display the test results, including OTDR trace information.
