Project file created by VideoStudio, a program used to create slideshows and movies; contains video project data, including references to video, audio, and image files, and movie timeline settings and effects; used to save and load movie projects.
VideoStudio projects can be exported to a variety of video file types, including .AVI, .MOV, and .MTS files. They may also be burned to DVD or Blu-ray discs.
VideoStudio, originally owned by Ulead, was acquired by Corel in 2006.
Developer file created by Visual Studio application development software; contains performance metrics gathered during an application test; helps developers identify bottlenecks so they can optimize performance.
VSP files can be very large in file size. Therefore, developers sometimes save report summary files (.VSPS extension) from their VSP files so they can reduce the storage requirement. However, note that the VSPS file does not contain all of the data stored in a VSP file, since it contains a report summary.
NOTE: Visual Studio 2011 introduced the .VSPX format, which replaces the .VSP format.
