Small program referred to as a "widget" that is used by the Dashboard in Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

Small Web-based program that can run on your Desktop using the Opera Web browser version 9 or later.

Component file used by Adobe Captivate, a multimedia publishing application often used to create eLearning products; contains a pluggable module, or "widget," that can be inserted into Captivate projects (.CPTX files); used for creating reusable components, such as pie charts or input forms.

Widgets can be one of three types:

• Static: Non-interactive and meant to display information.
• Interactive: Allows user input and changes appearance based on the input.
• Question: Can be used for asking multiple choice or free-form questions for a quiz.
