File created by 3DMark, a program used to benchmark the 3D gaming capabilities of Windows computers; contains benchmark test results based on a user-specified configuration; used to compare 3D graphics capabilities against other computers.

3DR files may be submitted and analyzed through the Futuremark Online Results Browser (ORB), a Web browser based results viewer. Millions of users have contributed their results to the Futuremark online benchmark repository.

3DMark tests computers based on their DirectX performance.

Project file created by 3D Rad, a free application used to create 3D games; stores a 3D scene with objects and their properties; also stores links between objects, which allows them to interact with physical constraints.

3DR project files can be compiled into standalone executables or into applets that can be embedded into Web pages. Therefore, 3D Rad projects are used for games for both the Windows and Web browser platforms.
