| File Description | File used by InDesign, a desktop publishing design application; contains information required to import text and graphics from another file format; used for filtering text and images from other programs to the InDesign format. SMRD files are actually folders containing a collection of files. To browse the files, remove the ".smrd" extension and open the folder. The InDesign installation includes several SMRD files, which are located in the /Plug-ins/Filters/sangam readers/ directory. NOTE: SMRD files are similar to .SMWT files, which are used for exporting text and graphics. The "RD" in SMRD stands for "reader," while the "WT" in SMWT stands for "writer." |
