.SPO File Extension

Output file created by the Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS); generated by a program (.SPS file) that analyzes statistics and other data.

NOTE: SPO files are exported by SPSS 15 and earlier. SPSS 16 and later exports files in a different format with an .SPV extension. SPO files are not compatible with SPSS 16 or 17, but can be viewed with SPSS SmartViewer 15, which is also sometimes called "SPSS Legacy Viewer."

Saved game created by Spore, a game where players evolve their creatures through multiple stages of life; stores the game state including the progress of the creature's evolution within the surrounding civilization.

In Windows, SPO files may be saved in the following directory: [user]\AppData\Roaming\SPORE\Games\.
