.TAX11 File Extension

Tax return created with TurboTax 2011, a U.S. tax preparation program; contains federal tax forms for the 2011 tax year; may also include state tax forms if a state version has been downloaded; can be saved in an encrypted, password-protected format that requires a password to open.

NOTE: TurboTax usually saves 2011 tax returns with a .TAX2011 file extension. However, the program also recognizes files with the abbreviated ".tax11" extension.
