Video subtitles file created in the Universal Subtitle Format (USF); uses XML text formatting instead of plain text used by many other subtitle formats; used for synchronizing textual and image subtitles with a movie; supported by some video playback programs.
USF was designed to be a universal format that incorporated the best of all subtitling formats into a flexible and portable format. However, it was not widely adopted, perhaps because of the verbosity of the XML syntax.
